About this Print

Exposure was originally scratches inside an asphalt truck.
The making of this image was a lot of fun involving a lot of work. The top left area of this photo was about a foot closer to the lens than the bottom right area. I took over 48 exposures of this single image (a detail on an asphalt truck) to capture focus for each section of the image and experimented using the technique of “focus stacking” until I found that stacking every 6th image rendered the best result. Due to the constraints of the angle needed for a good composition I would not have been able to obtain nearly enough depth-of-field without the affordances of this technique.
